How FON Helps Nicaraguans in Need
Friends of Nicaragua (FON) is a group of Rotarians who together with friends and family support the people of Nicaragua with infrastructure projects, education, and healthcare through the coordination of multiple national and international Rotary groups. We travel to Nicaragua with a team of about 15-20 people during spring break to assist the poorest of the poor with providing medications, food, and sustainable projects to improve their conditions and give them hope and opportunities for a better future. - Infrastructure: drilling fresh water wells and plumbing to homes.
- Education: building and renovating schools and playgrounds for children; providing school supplies, including books and other resource materials.
- Healthcare: building medical clinics and providing medical supplies & equipment to clinics and hospitals.
